Each individual proprietor in a strata scheme separately owns a small part called a 'lot'. This is usually their apartment or townhouse, but could alos be a separate parking lot. The other parts of a strata scheme which are not part of anyone’s private lot are jointly owned by all the lot owners and are called common property.
